This Instant Pot Dinner features a rump roast pressure cooker recipe that is deliciously satisfying and leaves plenty of pocket change for dessert.

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • iii lb beef rump roast
  • two cups beef broth
  • 3/4 cup chocolate-brown sugar
  • kosher salt
  • footing black pepper

for the mushroom beef gravy

  • ii tbsp butter
  • 8 oz sliced mushrooms
  • one/three cup flour
  • common salt and pepper to taste
  1. Place roast in big mixing bowl and generously sprinkle all sides with kosher salt and pepper. Next, evenly cover all sides with brown sugar. Let to residuum while preparing Instant Pot.

  2. Place olive oil in Instant Pot and plow to sautée (high). Once the Instant Pot is fully heated, ensure that olive oil is evenly distribute throughout bottom surface of pot and sear each side of the roast for four to 5 minutes, using a set of large kitchen tongs to handle the meat.

  3. After all sides of roast are seared, turn Instant Pot to off and add goop. Be sure that the level of goop reaches at least ane half the height of the roast. Close Instant Pot and place vent valve in "sealing" position. Use manual setting (loftier) and ready for lxx minutes. (See recipe notation regarding cooking time).   2. Serve beef and top with gravy.

Pressure level cooking time for a beef roast is determined by thickness and not weight. Every bit a general guideline, figure on twenty minutes for each inch of thickness. If you take a roast that is more than than 3 inches thick, add some other 10 or fifteen minutes to the cooking time.
