.
instead... i cannot stand how the tablet moves the mouse around even when the pen is floating an inch above the tablet. i want it so that it works like a existent PEN - i want it and then that the pen has to be TOUCHING the wacom tablet for it to move the mouse cursor around, and just be "clicked" when im holding down the little button on it.
unfortunately, i cannot find ANY information on how to do this extremely simple concept - and i cannot seem to discover ane single option in the wacom command settings that tin can let me do this.
whatever ideas?

the mouse moves around the screen just like a pen moves around without writing when you hover over the pad. and you click by tapping, or pressing and belongings on the pad, just like y'all would to write on a pad of paper.
get used to it, you'll find that information technology becomes quite natural soon.

i remember that'due south absolutely ridiculous. it seems similar such an obvious characteristic preference, i can't believe they would exit out that option. information technology's non like it's a complicated setup... only movement the cursor when touching the surface, only depict while belongings the button. y'all'd also think someone, somewhere would have created some simple little patch to accomplish this. ugh, if only i knew how to.

That's actually pretty bad-mannered.
Think nigh a pencil and newspaper, do you lift upwardly the pencil to move to a new area or slide it across the paper? The tablet is mimicing the aforementioned beliefs, just moving the cursor when you're above the tablet, and writing when you lot're on the tablet.

hullo all, i bought a wacom intuos3 6x8 tablet the other day, thinking it would work exactly the way i imagined it would.whatsoever ideas?
Tablets map their locations to absolute locations on the screen. They don't utilise relative positioning like a mouse does.
Yous would accept to redesign the hardware from scratch. If they did use relative positioning, y'all could run into situations where you would still demand to be drawing with plenty of space left on the screen, but you would exist at the edge of the tablet, with no where left to draw on something requireing feather touch control, you'd have to move and then employ the "Verbal" right amount of pressure before moving again...
Human beings don't accept that kind of muscle command.
Just like having a mouse at the edge of a mousepad because yous picked information technology up and placed it at the tiptop of the pad. The cursor didn't movement, but the mouse did. With a mouse it doesn't matter, there is no 2nd level of command equal to practical pressure.

true...simply on the Wacom i2's nosotros had in shop had a mouse way for the included wireless mouse to be used on top of the tablet, and you lot could set it with the tap of a pen to the mouse mode, so y'all CAN employ it like a mouse, minus the fact that you tin can't move the mouse while touching the pad without writing.Tablets map their locations to absolute locations on the screen. trust me, well-nigh everyone I accept shown how to use a tablet started the same style you are, including me....your instincts tell you to put the pen down to movement the mouse, but yous don't have to....you volition become used to it, don't worry.
